The coordinator of the group is Szymon Zajączkowski and the members are: Julia Pakuła, Julia Skowera, Aleksandra Warzocha, Aleksandra Klassa
The research will consider extremophile organisms.
On the 5th of July a meeting attended by the dean of the Oceanography Department Ph. D. Ewa Szymczak, Ph.D. Aleksandra Zgrundo and Anna Rzepa took place. It concerned the support of students from the astrobiological module and the agreement between the Oceanography Department and the III LO.
On the 20th of June our team performed a ground trial which is a part of the “Light” subproject. Our aim was to test technology and our skills needed to perform spectrum analysis of the atmosphere before the stratospheric trials.
The works on the emitter started with the burning of 12 PLN in the form of 3 LED diodes. As it later turned out, it was due to inappropriate cooling and unstable power supply. We solved the first problem by adding a heavy radiator and ventilator, and the second one by using a technical power supplier with a power safety device. The next trials (conducted with a fire extinguisher within our reach) can be seen on the photos.
We are preparing the light emitters experiment and, thanks to Mr. Jarosław Pęka’s courtesy, we were able to visit the terrace of the Sea Towers which is the tallest building in Gdynia. The access to this place is limited.
Thanks to the courtesy of Mr. Tomasz Kozar who collaborates with our project we received an invitation to the Microsoft headquarters in Warsaw. It was an enriching experience. Our work went according to the agenda.
