At the end of February our team went to the Warsaw University of technology to meet the PW-SAT2 team. We were invited by the coordinator of the project, Inna Uwarowa. The meeting was attended by: Mrs. Marta Mąkosa, Barbara Utracka, Mateusz Mazurkiewicz, Kacper Jańczuk, Jan Struziński, Szymon Zajączkowski And Kamil Iwanowski.
PW-SAT2 is an initiative of the members of the Student’s Astronomy Club which main aim is to construct and test an innovative system of deorbitation in the form of a sail. Moreover, the team plans to test the system of opened solar panels, the Sun sensor as well as algorithm of satellite control. The power supply, satellite structure and software of the mission are created by the members of the team of the project.
Thanks to the courtesy of the PW-SAT2 we had the opportunity to take a close look at their actions. It was an amazing experience. Observing the work of a team which has gone so far was the greatest form of study for our group. At the end of the year PW-SAT2’s satellite will be launched to the orbit. We declared readiness to locate it during its mission.
We are extremely thankful to the Warsaw University of Technology and especially to the PW-SAT2 for the opportunity to take part in such a great undertaking.
